Being part of the pre-competitive team has been such a great experience. Going into it we were nervous as we didn’t know what to expect, but our daughter quickly felt like part of the team, and we felt welcomed by the teachers and other parents. Watching our daughter’s confidence and skills grow has been a joy, as well as seeing her bond with her teammates. We ended up loving the competitions and the whole experience more than expected!

Full-Time Dance Mom x 2
If you told me a year ago that my son would thrive in competitive dance, I would have been very skeptical. He is an outgoing child, but he just was not comfortable in more aggressive team sports, and we were not sure what to try next. He had been a spectator, watching his big sister compete for DDP so he had an idea of what competitive dance involved, but I was still shocked when he told me he wanted to try it! I am so glad that we agreed to letting him join the Teenie Beanie team at DDP!
He has grown tremendously this year, both as a person and as a performer. He has learned how to work as a team, support his teammates, learn from various teachers, explore different dance disciplines, receive feedback, work towards goals, learn new skills, develop strong work ethic, and gain confidence through performing with his group at competitions. He has developed friendships with his teammates and has loved the mentorship provided by the “Senior” dancers at DDP, who provide expertise, enthusiasm, and support to our youngest competitive company.
I cannot recommend the Teenie Beanie program enough! It is a fantastic introduction to competitive dance, a well-structured program, great exercise, and provides children a chance to try competitive dance in a supportive environment!
We hope to see you next year at DDP!!!!

Our daughter’s first year in the Teanie Beanie group and competitive dance has been such a positive experience. The studio created a welcoming and supportive environment, with teachers who made her feel encouraged and excited to learn. I was especially impressed by how much her dance technique, confidence, and skills developed throughout the year as she transitioned from recreational to competitive dance. She especially loved the team-building events, forming new friendships and building meaningful connections with older dancers she looks up to and admires. We are so grateful for such a positive introduction to competitive dance.
